Terms and Conditions

Effective since August 2026

This document sets out the agreement between Accelera Tutoring and the parent/guardian or student. By booking lessons with us, you agree to these terms.

Lessons 

  • Lessons will take place on Google Meet with a link being sent to the given email address. 
  • Students will require an internet connection and a working laptop or computer with good audio and video. 

Code of Conduct 

  • Students are expected to be in a quiet workspace, well prepared, attend lessons on time, and stay focused. 
  • Students and tutors are expected to be polite, respectful, and use appropriate language at all times. Any form of bullying, discrimination, or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated. 
  • The tutor will help you with your work, but will not write your essays or take tests for you.

Lesson Cancellations and Rescheduling 

  • 6-Hour Notice Rule: If you need to cancel or reschedule a scheduled lesson, you must give us at least 6 hours’ notice. If cancelled entirely, a full refund will be offered. 
  • Late Cancellations: If you cancel with less than 6 hours’ notice, half of the lesson fee will be charged. 
  • Tutor Cancellations: If our tutor cancels a lesson unexpectedly, we offer a full refund for that lesson or rearrange a lesson at a time that works for you. 
  • Technical Failure: If a lesson cannot happen due to a technical breakdown or the tutor’s internet connection, the lesson will be rescheduled. If the failure happens on your end, half of the lesson fee will still apply. 
  • If you request lessons to start within the 14-day cooling-off period, you may still cancel within those 14 days, but a deduction will be made for any lessons already delivered prior to cancellation.

Late to Lessons 

  • The tutor will wait for the student for 20 minutes before cancelling the online lesson. 
  • If the student arrives within the 20 minutes, the lesson will take place and end at the scheduled time. 
  • If the student does not attend after 20 minutes, the tutor will leave the organised meeting and the full fee will still apply. 

Fees, Invoicing and Late Payments

  • Payment deadlines: Invoices are issued a week in advance before the next calendar month. All invoices must be paid in full within 7 calendar days from the invoice date.
  • Late payment fees: Payments received after the due date will face a fixed late fee of £5 to cover administrative costs. 
  • Suspension of lessons: If an invoice remains unpaid for more than 7 days past its due date, all scheduled lessons will be immediately suspended. Lessons will only restart once the outstanding balance and late fees are paid in full.
  • Debt recovery: Continued non-payment after 30 days may lead to legal action or recovery through an external debt collection agency. 

Limitation of Liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Accelera Tutoring will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, which include lost profits, loss of data, or disappointment with academic performance. 
  • Our total liability for any claim arising out of our tutoring services is strictly limited to the total amount you paid us for services in the three (3) months before the claim. 

Changes to these terms

  • We can update these rules at any time. If we change important things like prices or how we cancel lessons, we will send you an email.
